But the routes through South Africa to Cape Town, along the Garden Route and through Zululand to Durban are still the most popular and rewarding – especially at the start or finish of your holiday experience. Pretoria to Cape Town takes two gloriously full days and the train stops to allow you an undisturbed night’s rest.
